Medtronic IT Director - SAP Enterprise Architecture in United States

The person in this role may work remotely within the US or onsite at a US-based Medtronic facility.

As the IT Director of SAP Enterprise Architecture, you will provide technical, architectural, and thought leadership. You will drive the vision and strategic direction for the overall target state Enterprise Architecture for the Order Management, Supply Chain and Finance Value Streams supported by a vast IT landscape that includes several custom developed solutions along with modern application platforms such as SAP ECC, SAP HANA EE, SAP B4HANA, SAP S4HANA, Salesforce, Snowflake, Anaplan, Blue Yonder and others.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone with extensive hands-on experience in Application Development, Enterprise Architecture, ERP Implementations, and migrations on both on-prem and the public cloud and has a breadth of experience in SAP Architecture and design principles, upgrade/migration to SAP S4HANA and integrating core SAP ERP’s with upstream and downstream applications. Extensive, hands-on technical experience with both OTLP environments and data warehouse environments is required. MedTech experience would be an advantage. The individual should have a strong point of view to establish E2E architecture with authority, backing it up with detailed technical knowledge and experience. The candidate should have familiarity in AI and machine learning systems. The role will focus on analyzing and proposing the optimal Order Management, Supply Chain and Finance Systems Architecture across the enterprise. The candidate should be an expert on architectural standards, privacy, regulations, and security implications in a highly regulated industry.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Collaborate with IT Value Stream leadership and Business Unit leadership to drive rationalization of the Order Management, Supply Chain and Finance processes and develop the strategic direction and vision to maximize the value of enterprise assets.

• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, principles, frameworks, and roadmaps in alignment with IT vision that support the business objectives and enables innovation.

• Collaborates across IT Value Streams and Business Unit functions to identify opportunities for and influence/enforce the leveraging of common solutions and adoption of standards.

• Drive enterprise architecture best practices throughout the architecture community and the larger IT organization through the creation of an architecture community of practice.

• Lead and facilitate the design and implementation of enterprise solutions that integrate various systems, platforms, and technologies, and ensure alignment with the target architectures.

• Develop a deep understanding of the road map of modern enterprise platforms, evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies that can enhance/transform the business capabilities and performance.

• Establish an effective enterprise architecture governance process to enable agility and speed of delivery while ensuring adherence to architecture guidelines, operational excellence, and security standards.

• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to the larger community of architects and development teams and ensure the quality and consistency of the deliverables.

• Manage and mitigate architectural risks and issues and ensure compliance with the data privacy and security policies and regulations.

• Foster adoption by collaborating with stakeholders across the organization with effective communication, networking, and conflict management.

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree

• 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of experience with an advanced degree

• 7+ years of managerial experience

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

• 10+ years of overall IT experience with a required combination of hands-on Application Development, Solution Design, Technical Architecture, Project/Program leadership, delivery, and operations management.

• 10+ Years of experience in SAP related products and Technologies, with hands on technical implementation experience.

• Mature leader with extensive experience leading cross-functional teams of varying sizes to deliver significant outcomes, including IT strategies, planning, change management, operations, and stakeholder management.

• 7+ years of experience in delivering solutions in the public cloud and integrating them with on-prem solutions.

• Deep technical and Architectural level expertise, preferably with certifications in a broad range of technologies: SAP ECC, SAP S4HANA, SAP B4HANA, SAP EE, Salesforce, Snowflake, SAP Ariba, SAP GTS, SAP BO, Blue Yonder, SAP APO, SAP IBP, Anaplan etc.

• Must have, hands on experience transforming and migrating systems from SAP ECC to SAP S4HANA

• Extensive background in architecture practice, tools, and methodologies with a track record of being agnostic and unbiased towards specific technologies or vendors.

• Intellectually curious thought leader who can see the big picture and is a natural problem solver. Ability to serve as the technical leader and mentor to a group of internal and external architects.

• Strong relationship management skills, translating to being able to lead from the front and work well and deliver consensus-based outcomes from a broad range of stakeholders.

• Outstanding communication skills and seamlessly engage with IT and Business stakeholders and leaders.

• Commitment to staying abreast of new trends and technologies, quickly comprehend them and their applicability for the enterprise.

• Ability to translate the Enterprise Architect’s value addition and contribution to business outcomes through simple briefings for a wide audience.

• Organizationally savvy, adept at understanding and navigating political waters, be able to influence peers and leadership.

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.

Executive Level Roles: Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
