Description

We are seeking a diligent Sr. Accountant to join our team in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Mgt industry in SOUTHFIELD, Michigan. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be handling various accounting and financial tasks, including analyzing financial information, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records. This role is crucial in managing cash flows, updating forecasts, and preparing budgets to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Manage cash receipts and disbursement of investments in accordance with operating agreements

• Compile and analyze financial information for family partnerships to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting partnership transactions

• Update the current and longer-term forecasts of cash flow for each family partnership

• Update estimates of taxable income each quarter by member

• Analyze financial information, prepare budgets, variance analysis and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected financial positions

• Compile and reconcile related party loans and preferred return schedules

• Continually update cash flow and forecasted cash balances working with other departments

• Update quarterly valuations of investments by member

• Monitor loan covenants and report to lenders

• Respond to IRS or state correspondence on tax issues

• Compile information and prepare annual work papers for outside CPA review and preparation of tax returns.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of three years of accounting experience within the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management sector

• Proficient in Balance Sheet Reconciliation and General Ledger operations

• Demonstrated knowledge and execution of Tax Planning Strategies

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required

• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and accounting software

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

• Strong problem-solving capability

• High degree of professionalism and confidentiality

• Familiarity with industry regulations and guidelines.
