Amazon Sr. Partner Solutions Architect - AI Security, AI Security in San Francisco, California

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the next paradigm shift in computing and is looking for a world class candidate for the role of Sr. Solutions Architect – AI Security to anchor the AI Security partner practice in our Industry & Partner Solutions Center of Excellence.

Ideal candidates are those who have practical working experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Security. Security experience would include penetration testing, application security assessment, data security and governance, compliance audits, cryptography, and emerging threat protection. AI/ML experience would include training and operating machine learning models, including foundation models (both open source and proprietary), model lifecycle planning and ML Ops or FM Ops experience. Candidates also should have a desire to define what AI Security looks like in the context of cloud computing.

In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer and partner solutions. You will enjoy learning and introducing new technologies to a global team in order to help colleagues, customers and partners embrace and adopt AWS AI security best practices. Ideal candidates will be adept at interacting, communicating, and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our service teams, marketing, professional services, the broader Solutions Architect community, as well as representing our security-focused work to executive management.

As the right candidate, you will possess technical skills in software architecture, info security, compliance initiatives, software deployment and cloud computing as well as customer facing skills at all levels of a partner organization. You should also be able to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. You are a thought leader, and have a hands-on approach that partners are eager to engage with. The ideal candidate can learn new concepts and technologies in a yet-to-be-defined space, is able to communicate effectively with a diverse set of customers or partners across multiple disciplines, and is able to work effectively across internal and external organizations and remote teams.

Position may require the ability to travel domestically, 10-20% of the time, as needed

Key job responsibilities

Partners' trusted advisor: collaborate with AWS account, training, and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS data governance, security and AI services such as Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Sagemaker

• Business partner: serve as a key member of the business development and partner management team in helping to ensure partner and customer success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform

• Stays closely connected to product teams and works closely with partners to launch with new capabilities as services are launched and features are updated

• Public engagement: provide thought leadership on security solutions through external publications such as the AWS Blogs, Whitepapers and Reference architectures, and public presentations at AWS Summits, AWS re:Invent, AWS User Groups or industry events

• Community player: capture and share best-practices, participate, and contribute as a member of the worldwide AWS technical community of Solutions Architects, Professional Services Consultants, Technical Account Managers, and AWS Trainers

• Evangelize a partner’s value proposition internally throughout AWS and externally with customers

• Driving partner solutions, AWS Partner Network (APN) program attainment, continuous enablement through training, certifications, and go-to-market strategies for differentiation and expansion of their footprint

• Establishing AWS as the partner’s preferred cloud computing platform for secure AI workloads

• Working alongside the AWS Partner Development Manager (PDM) and AWS Partner Solutions Architects for the strategic partner to develop extensive executive and senior management relationships within partner organizations

• Provide the architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote successful engagements with software and solutions partners worldwide

• Serve as a key member of the extended AWS Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner team helping to define and deliver the overall go-to-market strategy for the segment

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience

  • Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

  • Experience working with end user or developer communities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
