Qualcomm's Government Technologies (QGOV) division develops special products based on its wireless terrestrial and satellite communication technologies for the military, federal, local, and foreign governments. As an Engineering Technician, you will support government-sponsored research, development, integration, and testing of such systems, including adaptation and extension of commercial systems to novel applications and environments, as well as internal development efforts. The individual will work on a variety of projects crossing multiple disciplines to deliver timely results to our customers. You will be responsible for working closely with other engineering disciplines to solve and document moderately complex problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete assigned tasks on time without significant errors

• Actively seek answers for new challenges

• Prioritizes project deadlines and deliverables without close supervision

• Adapt to changes and setbacks to meet deadlines

• Communicate issues with team lead and peers

• Seek out learning opportunities to increase own knowledge and skill

• Exercise creativity to troubleshoot technical problems or deal with novel circumstances

• Complete technical reports based on data and/or findings

Minimum Qualification:

Must be U.S. citizen and be eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance

Skilled in the use of soldering irons, hot air rework stations and small hand tools

Courses, certificates, diploma and/or experience in the field of electronics or equivalent

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• 5+ years of basic electrical/electronics engineering, electronics or RF testing, or related experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of experience working in a proto-type environment or equivalent field

• Basic knowledge of electronics (component identification/function)

• Basic knowledge of common test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzers, etc)

• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Pay range:

$28.02 - $42.02

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
