Project Title: Asian Cohort for Alzheimer's Disease (ACAD)

Position Title/Summary: Part-Time Research Assistant (RA) - Level

Research Assistants (Level 1 – 20%, 8 hours/ week). Korean speaking registered nurses (RNs) are preferred. RAs will be trained by the PI, Dr. Lee and key investigators. They will conduct tests to assess memory impairment and other thinking skills, judge functional abilities, and identify behavior changes. The PI and Korean Neuropsychologists will train experienced Korean HCPs through a three day-standardized training. After completion of the training, the trained and certified Korean HCPs will administer the cognitive assessment battery and they will also participate in clinical consensus meetings.

Proposed Start and End Date: 05/25/2024 to 06/30/2027

Other Duties and Responsibilitie:s

• Conduct health survey interview in Korean or English.

• Enter data into Redcap: Able to view and edit on a webpage in REDCap (data entry forms).

• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Performing other duties as assigned.

  In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual total base pay for this position is $16,640 or $40 per hour (8 hours per week). New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

  Required Skills and Qualifications:

This position requires strong verbal and written proficiency in Korean and English. The PI and research team is looking for a dependable individual who possesses a strong work ethic, strong research interest and skills, and strong professional communication and detailed oriented skills. Applicant should be able to work independently (as well as with a team).

a) Minimum required education: BSN or BA/BS in Health

b) Minimum required experience: minimum of one year of nursing experiences

c) Language skills: Bilingual Korean and English (able to work on the Korean version of the health survey for dementia)

Preferred Skills:

a) Preferred education: BSN or Graduate student

b) Preferred experience: working with Korean American older adults

c) Preferred skills: good communication skills and can run an culturally sensitive interview with older Korean American research participants

d) Ability to handle multiple priorities

e) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow through and great organizational skills

f) Proficient with computer-based applications such as MS Office, Excel, video-conference platforms (e.g., ZOOM), and data capture systems (e.g., REDCap)
