Job Summary and Qualifications

As the NICU Unit Secretary, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and clerical support within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Your knowledge of medical terminology, previous experience as a unit secretary, and BLS certification will be instrumental in ensuring efficient operations and maintaining high standards of patient care.

You will:

• Respond to patient and visitor general inquiries promptly and courteously.

• Promote customer service initiatives to enhance the patient and visitor experience.

• Answer telephone calls promptly and handle inquiries appropriately.

• Process orders accurately, ensuring timely delivery and documentation.

• Convey STAT orders to appropriate personnel immediately for urgent action.

• Maintain patient charts with accuracy and confidentiality.

• Assist with Infant Security initiatives to ensure the safety of newborns.

• Maintain par levels of supplies to support uninterrupted patient care.

• Follow directions as necessary to ensure the smooth workflow of the department.

• Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and other governing bodies' regulations, such as the Joint Commission.

• Support the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values through your actions and interactions.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred

• Previous Unit Secretary experience preferred

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
