The Azure Cloud Experiences Studio is seeking a motivated and creative UX researcher who’s passionate about understanding customers, analyzing data, and excited to know about cloud computing. As a part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll be working on delivering the next generation of experiences for Microsoft Azure. Responsibilities

  • You will collect and analyze UX data for a feature area, then share accessible insights that improve design and engineering processes for that feature area.

  • You will collaborate in cross-disciplinary research efforts. This will involve mentoring other disciplines, providing research tools, recruiting programs for research, and helping put together large-scale customer learning events.

  • You will leverage a wide range of research methodologies including usability studies, interviews, surveys, scorecards, competitive benchmarks, clickstream analytics, A/B testing, ethnographic field research, participatory designs, and user modeling.

  • You will innovate on new methods and practices that contribute to the UX community within Azure and Microsoft.

  • You will work in an agile development process and juggle multiple deliverables.

  • You’ll need to be detail-oriented and thorough in your approach to research methodology, but flexible enough to work within time and product constraints.

  • You will need to be a passionate advocate for our users throughout the development process and demonstrate how this leads to business value.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience conducting user research in tech companies with a proven record of having an impact on products.

  • Experience with a broad range of research methodologies (usability studies, interviews, site visits, surveys, user modeling, card sorting, or related methods).

  • A presentation of work demonstrating experience delivering UX research that results in product improvements and business impact.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 3+ years User Experience Research experience

  • 2+ years of experience within the technology sector and experience in research methods impacting both product direction and detailed experience design.

  • Coordinating work on multiple products/releases

  • Ability to work within tight timelines and with excellent project management skills

  • Technical knowledge of cloud computing, IT, and computer programming

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate rich customer data and articulate the implications of research findings.
