Phillips 66 Testing COE Lead in Houston, Texas

The Testing COE Lead provides IT applications testing services to the Phillips 66 business units and enablement programs to their respective IT Teams. The Testing COE Lead supports various testing platforms such as Micro Focus (OpenText) Application Lifecycle Management, Load Runner Enterprise, and UFT One. Additional Tools in our ecosystem include Keysight Eggplant, SAP Solution Manager, and Azure Test Suite. The role provides platform support, guidance on appropriate toolset usage, and enterprise best practices including test script management, release planning, reporting, and testing execution. This position is an independent contributor role that provides technical oversight as a testing architect and coordinates with project teams for test planning, resourcing, and execution leveraging best practices.
Responsibilities May Include:
Developing the organizational testing capabilities of IT applications in the following areas: automated testing, unit testing, regression testing, performance testing, mobile/platform testing, accessibility, etc.
Educate and evangelize the Testing COE services to the business functions
Create promotional materials and playbook guidance for IT and business consumption
Ensure the Testing COE has appropriate resource service levels from resource channels to meet project and COE needs
Toolset license oversight and asset management
Provide day-to-day 24x7 support for testing platforms and P66 dependent solutions
Consult with business and technical users on software testing by providing guidance and advice to solve challenging testing problems
Implement analytics including test metrics, defect prevention, and statistical quality control, etc.
Coordinate with project and application testing teams to ensure global release management schedules development and adherence
Required Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor’s degree
3 or more years of hands-on experience with Micro Focus Testing Suite including one or more of Application Lifecyle Management, UFT One, and Load Runner
3 or more years of experience with the advanced test management tools (ALM with test add on, Azure DevOps, SAP’s SolMan)
Demonstrated experience leading or overseeing testing services engagements
Lead and manage SAP application testing in the areas of S/4, S4 HANA such as production planning, sales and distribution, FICO, material management, record to report, procure to pay, and quality management modules
Strong hands-on SAP functional testing experience in designing SAP test strategies, manual scripts, load testing, test plans, testing readiness, user acceptance testing, and test execution
Experience in defect triage and management
Experience in onsite/offshore delivery model
Selection, training, and onboarding of testing resources for global projects delivery
Willing and able to provide day-to-day 24x7 application support for testing tools
Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, or other IT related field
Automate testing process to ensure quality, reduce effort, and provide a solution that meets the business requirements by Integrating ALM/UFT One/Solman
Global Implementation of testing tools with Azure Dev Ops CICD processes in support of business unit testing programs
Management of platform licenses to assure compliance with toolset vendors and spend
Experience working in or creating a Testing Center of Excellence
Hands-on experience in SAP Testing Center of Excellence implementation
Specialized knowledge in SAP S4 HANA
Experience with managing large teams of testers to create complex ERP testing scenarios
Hands-on experience with additional testing toolsets including Eggplant and Jmeter
Experience executing Proof of Concepts using multiple testing tools
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, around problem and conflict resolution
Ability to work independently, as contributor on a team, and take leadership roles
Effective time management, work prioritization, and escalation skills
Self-directed/motivated to solve problems quickly and creatively
