Job S u mm a r y:

This position reports to the Director of Digital Management and Product Growth and supports Direct Energy’s product management and development efforts aimed at extending our position as a leading provider of innovative propositions in the Alberta residential and small commercial retail energy market. The incumbent will support the product strategy in alignment with company goals and objectives. They will have responsibility for implementing products and feature enhancements from concept development to go to market implementation. This role will closely collaborate with GTM, Customer Management, Marketing, and Sales Channels to align technology, features, benefits, value proposition, customer experience, and marketing plans with the targeted segments. Additionally, this role will work closely with Operations and IT to ensure the implementation of the feature set achieves the desired business outcomes.

E s s e n t i a l D u t i e s/R e s p o n s i b il i t ies:

  • Roadmap Management: Manage the product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on business goals, customer needs, and market trends.

  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into detailed product specifications.

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products on time and within budget.

  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats and adjust the product approach accordingly.

  • Customer Feedback: Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve products and enhance the user experience.

  • Release Management: Coordinate product releases and updates, working closely with engineering, design, marketing, and other teams to ensure seamless delivery.

  • Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the product management stakeholders and team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships and collaboration with cross- functional teams, including GTM, Customer Management, Marketing, Sales and Operations and Care.

  • Product Ownership: Act as the primary point of contact and advocate for the product, owning the product vision and representing the voice of the customer.

  • Feature Definition: Define features and product enhancements, working closely with design and engineering teams to ensure alignment with the product vision and customer needs.

  • Product Development: Collaborate with engineering teams to drive the development process, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and acceptance testing.

  • Market Launch: Lead the go-to-market planning, implementation and product launch activities, working with GTM, sales, marketing, and other teams to drive product adoption and success.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor product performance and key metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize product performance and drive growth.

  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously iterate on products based on feedback, market trends, and performance data to drive ongoing improvement and innovation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minim u m Re q u i r e m e n t s :

  • A post-secondary degree, college diploma or equivalent years’ work experience in marketing or a related field.

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and can navigate accordingly.

  • A passion for using data and insights in decision making.

  • Experience in leading a cross-functional team and can bring people along collectively driving change and innovation.

  • High-tech product management, product marketing, or product development experience desired.

W o r k i n g Co n di t io n s :

  • Primarily an office environment.

  • Some overtime required as special projects arise.

  • Some travel <10%
