Amazon Privacy is looking for a Senior Software Development Manager that wants to create unique data privacy solutions that help us retain our customer’s trust. Our team partners across Amazon’s Consumer and Digital business units to build, monitor, and protect a secure environment for the Amazon business.

The ideal candidate will be able to define the vision, the structure and execution for their group. They will be able to identify new or innovative ways to help Amazon customers while partnering with other multifunctional teams in Amazon. You'll come help envision and deliver the future of privacy tools used by tens-of-thousands of developers and privacy specialists throughout the company while leading teams of engineers to take them there!

Key job responsibilities

• Define the vison for your teams and lead them with passion and empathy towards executing that vision

• Shape the team’s structure and technical strategy to address business needs

• Lead several teams in designing, developing, documenting, and rolling out large-scale services

• Grow leaders who will disambiguate a complex business area and translate it into tech systems

• Evaluate and make decisions around the use of existing software products and tools and building new ones

• Ensure operational readiness and excellence in maintaining systems in production

About the team

Amazon Privacy Engineering group Romania is responsible for building solutions present on Amazon Retail Website but not limited to that. Our solutions enable Amazon customers to exercise their privacy rights. This group is in a unique position to be directly connected to customers while, internally, building central solutions for all Amazon business like Alexa, Prime Video, Kindle or Devices.

Privacy group is a cross functional group meaning that everyone can be exposed to more than just building software. As a member of Privacy you have access to Legal, Customer Support, Business teams and Engineering teams.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software

• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field

• Experience partnering with product and program management teams

• Experience managing engineers

• Experience managing Software Development Managers

• English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

• Knowledge of Unix/Linux, C++ or Java, object-oriented and service- oriented Architecture

• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
